Cast in place construction method

Cast in place construction method Cast in place construction method - moladi Cast-In-Place (CIP) concrete is a building construction method where locally supplied ready mix concrete or site mix mortar (concrete without stone or coarse aggregate), steel reinforcement and plastic formwork are delivered to the construction site and production of concrete and mortar structures takes place on location or insitu.   moladi , an award winning South African based company, established in 1986, makes low cost housing accessible to low-income people through innovative and eco-friendly technology, creating employment. The moladi Low Cost Housing System consists of a reusable and recyclable plastic formwork mold, which is filled with stone-less concrete and a special concrete additive. This additive ensures that, once the mortar is set, the formwork can be removed - and reused up to 50 times. The brick-less walls can withstand all types of weather and is earthquake and hurricane resistan...

Building Systems

Building systems Building Systems The moladi building system involves the use of a unique removable reusable recyclable and lightweight plastic formwork mould which is filled with an aerated SABS approved mortar to form the wall structure of a house in only one day. The process involves the assembly of a temporary plastic formwork mould the size of the designed house with all the electrical services plumbing and steel reinforcing located within the wall structure which is then filled with a South African Bureau of Standards approved mortar mix to form all the walls of the house simultaneously. This method eliminates the time and labour intensive work of chasing beam filling plastering and generates no waste. Cost effective construction techniques Cost effective construction techniques Cost effective construction techniques - moladi building system -plastic formwork - affordable housing Cost effective construction techniques Cost effective construction techniques Established in 1986, moladi has developed a cost effective construction technique addressing the basic need for durable quality low-cost housing which is a viable affordable alternative to traditional building methods. Representing the most advanced cost effective construction technique and innovations in industrial construction of affordable low-cost housing, schools clinics and other structures, with years of experience in the industry our knowledge has inspired subsequent ulterior solutions for development. Lack of resources, insufficient funds, skills shortage, time constraints, work flow control and waste are key challenges embodied in affordable housing shortages. Our technology addresses these issues and this is why...

Hennie Botes -  Interview - Emily Ahearn 1999   Emily Ahearn SP.746 March 31, 1999 - Massachusetts Institute of Technology New Building Materials Provide Low Cost Housing in South Africa Affordable housing is coming to South Africa in the form of a new building technology created by Moladi Construction Technology. The technique was developed by Hennie Botes, founder of the South Africa-based company. The process starts with an injection molded plastic formwork used to construct walls. The large, wall-sized sheets can be arranged to form a house of any size and design desired. The formwork is then filled with a mixture of local river sand, cement, water, and a harmless admixture. When the plastic formwork is removed, the walls can be painted and a roof erected to complete the house, the entire process taking only a matter of days. "Traditional building methods cannot possibly hope to meet the demand [for low cost housing] promptly without forfeiting ...
